The role of the co-operatives in service sector is quite significant, although there is stiff competition from the private sector the co-operatives in the service sector are rendering significant and remarkable services to the people.

In Karnataka Consumer Co-operatives are working in 3 stages viz.,

  1. The Karnataka State Co-operative Consumers Federation Ltd., Bangalore at State level.
  2. The District Central Co-operative Wholesale Stores at District level
  3. The Primary Consumer Co-operative Societies at Primary level.

1. THE KARNATAKA STATE COOPERATIVE  CONSUMER'S FEDERATION,  BANGALORE.,

It is a State level Co-operative Institution registered in the year 1964 and has 24 members. The Federation is running 7Janatha Bazaars at Bangalore. 7 branches in other Districts and 9 Medical shops.
