In the cooperative sector, the White Revolution has taken place and has spread over the entire state. The primary milk cooperative milk and state federation are leading the sector with great vigour and vision.

Dairy Cooperative Societies function at three stages in the State i.e., at the Village level there are the Milk Producers Cooperative Societies, at the District level District Milk unions and at the State level the Karnataka Co-operative Milk Producers Federation. The federation offers a fair price to the rural milk producers besides catering to the requirement of the Urban Consumer of pure hygienic and qualitative milk, butter, ghee, peda, burfi, panneer, khova, flavoured milk etc.,

KARNATAKA STATE CO-OPERATIVE MILK FEDERATION LTD.,

The Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Ltd., a cooperative apex body in Karnataka, has been implementing Dairy Development activities in the entire state since 3 decades in a phased manner through the 13 district milk unions, ushering prosperity in the lives of rural Milk Producers.

Karnataka Co-operative Milk Producers Federation Ltd., is a State level Organization, which is discharging the responsibilities of Dairy Development activities in all the milk unions coming under the jurisdiction of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF).

KMF is functioning as a link between dairy farmers and consumers and is providing continuous market in the rural milk producers and supplying good quality milk and milk products as per the demand of consumers. With a view to emphasize dairy development in rural areas technical input facilities, balanced cattle feed for cattle, veterinary aid to cattle, LN2 containers to AI Centers for AI and Vaccination are being continuously supplied to milk producers. As at the end of March 2013, 12036 DCSs are made functional and 49.08 lakh kg milk per day is being procured and among this 29.89 ltrs of milk is being sold.
